The fauna:  In our region the most frequently animal is the Greek country turtle. In the lake of Kaiafa, 3 km behind  Zacharo, there are many swamp turtles. And at our beach you can find the hawksbill turtle as big as 1,2m. They live in the sea and their place eggs at night in nests digged into the sand. There are also the emerald saurian and the small geckos. The geckos run on the walls and to live on gnats and flies. In addition we have small green tree frogs, those ones live in palms around the pool.
